The Victory Of Fulham Against The Leeds

Jesse Marsh was on his way to the end of a rough night when Leeds United fans pounced on Marcelo Bielsa, challenging his replacement, bullying the player’s show and seeing his team go seven games unbeaten. When the final whistle blew to end the game, Marsh immediately went into the tunnel, infuriating the visiting team’s fans, and you could tell that none of the Leeds fans left happy. They were all besotted.

The turn of roles

Eventually, for Brendan Rogers, the limelight is somewhere else. Rodgers has a long-lasting talk, where he stated that Leicester would do well. At the same time, Jamie Vardy took the field, sipping a can of Red Bull to start the second half, the harm had already been done. Robin Koch’s own goal and Harvey Barnes’ shot secured his second win of the season and a move from the under-surface of the standings. Barnes praised clever teamwork, but the backup of the win was more like a kick to the center of the path.

The fact that Leicester is now in the relegation zone and that Marsh’s team last celebrated triumph when Boris Johnson was yet prime minister suggests that these teams are headed in various paths. The Leed’s play with the Fulham this week unexpectedly took on added importance.

Last weekend it sometimes felt like the ramparts were shutting in on Rodgers, who was mocked by Leicester fans demanding his dismission, but now it was Marsh’s time to get pushed around. Marsh performed four alterations after the loss to Arsenal, dropping Cooper and Rodrigo in at pause. Patrick Bamford got back to the start line but was unable to prove himself.

The turning point

Leicester was able to loosen up after getting the advantage in the 16th min. Dennis Plate, who substituted the expelled James Maddison, took advantage of an awkward touching from defender Koch to take the ball away. Vardy then hit Mark Rock, but ref Peter Banks let the game to go on, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall released Plate with the 1st passing. Plate introduced a great hit into the area amid Ilan Meslier and Koch, Koch hid behind Barnes, who accidentally put the shot in front of his own goalie.
