Anthony Joshua Retires From The Sport For A Recovery Break

In September 2021, the WBA, IBF, and WBO world titles of the 33-year-old “Golden Boy” of the Olympics in London were taken away from Anthony Joshua. He threw many of his old belts to the floor after a failed rematch in August, no matter the significantly developed work, and broke down and cried at the post-fight press conference.

The great loss

The loss of the title and the potential for a decisive match in an undisputed division were the biggest goals of his career. The power pin-up has yet to confirm that while he was getting ready for the fight, his head was not fully recovered, despite his promise to Eddie Hearn, a Watford legend and promoter, promising a fight in December.

The sportsman had discussions with unbeaten Tyson Fury about a possible match in December. After money-making and support agreements collided with Fury’s second-place finish in a scheduled fight at Cardiff Stadium, he withdrew from the negotiations. And now he has revealed that his household is pressing him to take a lengthy break in order to give his enormous heart and mind time to heal after a difficult loss. Joshua bravely acknowledged that he was really broken after the last match and couldn’t really complain because it was a good match for the British fans and for him.

The breakdown and recovery

After his collapse in 2017, that co-occured with a doping suspension, Fury’s bitter adversary turned to mental health advocacy as a second career. But Joshua suppressed all of his grief until the Saudi Arabian desert’s heat caused his rock-hard side to crumble. He must now go through the recovery process all over again. He will probably make his ring comeback in the spring of the upcoming year.

Although boxers are physically strong, there is a lot of mental pressure. But winning would always give Joshua the best feeling. But now he understands that no matter the belt, the internal sense of victory will be fantastic once more. Due to financial and contractual issues, Joshua was unable to compete in two of the best heavyweight matches of his generation against Britain’s Tyson Fury and America’s Deontay Wilder. But he wishes to return back to fighting as soon as possible.
